About Tara

Special Education teacher with 12 years of Autism experience. Prior to becoming a teacher I was a behavior specialist. I'd describe my personality as laid back, patient, and fun loving. I like tutoring because I enjoy seeing the kids make progress and watching their confidence grow. I'm looking for a job that needs assistance with early literacy or math skills. Most of my experience is with pre-k through first grade skills. I have been a special education teacher for almost 8 years and I am starting tutoring on the side this year. In my spare time, I like to be outside, go hiking, play various sports, and hang out with my daughter. My skills include assessing early literacy skills, teaching functional communication, adapting to each individual learner, and scaffolding my instruction.
