About Sydney

Hi my name is Sydney, and I am a student at the University of Oregon. I am 19 and have been babysitting for the past 5 years. While taking care of kids it is important to me that they feel safe, included, and have fun! Previously, I worked as a soccer class leader for the Lil' Kickers soccer program where I taught classes to large groups of kids ages ranging from 18 months to 9 years old. In this position, I learned valuable skills of child engagement, organization, and conflict resolution. I also worked with as a childcare worker at Bethany Childcare, an elementary after-school care program. In this role, I supervised and ensured the safety of students while providing an engaging and inclusive environment. I have also babysat kids ages ranging from 1 - 13 years old. Each kid has taught me different lessons and skills that go far beyond childcare. When babysitting, I do my best to keep kids off of screens and instead, learning and playing.
