About Ashley

I'm an artist, actor, nanny and educator who recently moved to Portland from Austin, TX. I have worked with a range of ages from under a year to 12 years old. My most recent nanny job was a family back in Texas whom I was with for about 2 years. The bulk of my long-term experience, and my natural draw towards childcare, is being big sister to a now 13 and 15 yr old. I've helped raise them from babies to teens and learned a lot along the way. This past summer I worked as a camp instructor for Trackers Earth, and I am now working part-time with the non-profit organization Art4Life, as an after school art teacher. Working with children post-grad has taught me how to work with malleable young minds, helping kids explore, grow and engage with themselves and the world around them. Every child comes with different needs and they can be full of surprises. I have a passion for the arts and nature, and an insatiable love for learning, and I bring these skill sets to my work in childcare.
