About Suzanne

Hi, I'm Suzanne! I have lived in Atlanta since 1987, when I came here to attend Georgia Tech. After graduation and working for several years as a software engineer, I decided to stay home with my first child (of four). I was the primary caregiver and then teacher as we homeschooled (for lifestyle rather than religious reasons) from pre-k through 8th grade. Once my kids aged out of our homeschool and began attending our local high school, I realized how rewarding and enjoyable I found the work, and I've been working in education ever since. Most recently, I worked for 10 years as a teacher and administrator as a secular, progressive hybrid school serving homeschooled students in grades 6-12, where I served as Dean of the Junior High and taught a range of courses including literature, science, history, and critical thinking. I also have experience as a paid tutor in those subjects, plus math and SAT/ACT test prep. Let me know if you think I might be a good fit for your family!
