Caring for children allows me to be creatively and actively involved in work that's meaningful. Children are naturally eager to learn and grow as they play. It's exciting to share curiosity and enthusiasm, as we explore, discover, and create! For the last two years, I've been nanny to one child, who is now two. Previously, I held two other nanny positions, with children, newborn to age five. I taught preschool for 14 years, and provided childcare for NfL First 5. I've trained with the Outdoor Classroom Project, am a certified Level 1 Outdoor Specialist, and I taught my own outdoor classroom, through NfL. I did my student teaching in the co-op at Ventura College. My own five children attended Open Classroom, where I volunteered, preparing and facilitating learning activities for school aged children. I've participated in Richards Institute's Education Through Music workshops; I love sharing music with children! I hold an AA in ECE, Child Development, and have first aid/CPR training.

Susie worked for our family from September 2016 to December 2017. She cared for our two girls, who were one and three when she started and two and four by the time we left. She has years of experience caring for kids. She had a very soothing voice that was calming to children. My oldest daughter is very strong willed, but Susie was firm and patient with her. She brought books and learning activities with her to share with our children. She taught them about nature and wildlife. My oldest daughter was in feeding therapy, and she adhered to those requirements and followed our instructions. Susie would also use our car to take the children to preschool and pick them up. The teachers at the school complimented her to us when we saw them and that they were impressed with her care. Susie sang, played, and taught our girls. She fed them, did diaper changes, monitored them during naps. We adored her, and she is only available for hire because our family had to move out of state for work.
