About Sophia

Hello!! My name is Sophia, nice to meet you! I am a 23-year-old college student, studying English, media literacy, and Mandarin Chinese, on track to becoming a middle school English teacher after grad school. I currently am a substitute teacher with experience caring for kindergarten through 12th grade, both general education and special needs. In my free time I am reading, trying a new recipe, learning to crochet, or going on nature walks. My favorite part about caring for and teaching children is encouraging them towards chasing their dreams and giving them the tools and knowledge on how to do it, all while having as much fun as possible! I am part of a generation that grew up without smartphones but then got them in middle school, so I understand both the kid and the adult perspective on screens. I try not to have kids on their phones or electronics most of the time while I'm with them, but I like to make the time away from the screen well worth it.
