Experience: 6 yrs
Hello! I have 6 years of experience in childcare. I've worked at a daycare in the infant room, as a lead teacher. After that, I kept in touch with certain families who would let me babysit on the weekends. In 2022 I worked as a behavioral technician working in ABA therapy, working with kids on the autism spectrum. -Own reliable car -Clean driving record -Non smoker (Current) Professionally nannied/Family assistant for 2+years -School drop off, pickup and taking child to extracurricular activities. -Meal prepping (child's food) -laundry -grocery shopping -organizing -light housekeeping (washing dishes, keeping the kitchen and any play area tidy)
We initially hired Sofia to help us as a household assistant. She was pretty good. Unfortunately, she was also very particular, finicky, lacked flexibility, and was challenging to communicate with. She works best in an environment where I imagine there is just 1 child to take care of and very little changes to the weekly schedule. We hired her because we were looking for help managing all the things that go into running a household for a family of five with three kids ranging from ages 2yrs - 9yrs. We stuck with her because even though she was very challenging to communicate with and very particular, she has a strong work ethic and would get things done well and fast. However, we were moving and had a way we wanted to do things and she imposed her ideas of what she thought would work best and was frustrated when we weren't doing it her way. It was December and we decided to take a week trip and I spent a great deal of time planning out what her week would look like while we were gone as there was plenty of work for her to do. Then she quit on the spot out of nowhere. Articulating that "she knew that we had no work for her" but we absolutely did. She panicked because of her own anxiety and rigidity, struggled to communicate with us, and internally spiraled. Unfortunately, she lost a well paying gig because of her own internal limitations. She was helpful but the stress of having to manage her particular nature ended up making it a relief when she left, and we didn't have to manage her emotions. Wish her the best of luck and hope she can get resources. Giving 3 stars instead of 1 because she was helpful, just very stressful to work with, for a dynamic, fast-moving family of five. If you have a slow-paced, smaller family, I think she will be a great fit, and you will be very happy.
