About Brandy

Hello my name is Brandy! I am hoping to become your family's long-term nanny. I am a college graduate with a degree in Psychology. While working on my degree, I worked as a veterinarian tech for 10 years. My last year of school included a fantastic internship at an elementary in Virginia with the class of kindergartners. It was there that I decided that I wanted to work with children. Since then, I have worked as a teacher in a preschool and owned and operated my own home daycare. I also became a mother of two beautiful boys of my own who attend preschool full-time. I have always been a natural nurturer, it is certainly something I was born with. I am hoping to find a family that allows me to combine my education, skills and creativity and provide quality, unique care. I teach/parent/nurture based on the philosophy of Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. The main point of the theory is to allow the child to teach side by side with teacher. The teacher creates a curriculum based on the interests the child displays. This allows the child to have a sense of control and therefore has more willingness to learn. As a nanny, I feel that I can incorporate this into my daily job with your child/ren.
