About Sofia

I like tutoring because I love to learn. I believe every human being deserves access to quality education. Tutoring students of all ages supports my lifelong goal of becoming a teacher. I began tutoring as a middle-school student in 2013 via a local nonprofit. I tutored in multiple subjects throughout my time in high school. I rejoined the volunteer program after graduating university. I now tutor a third-grade student in reading, writing, and math. I support writers of all ages in academic, professional, and creative projects. I also help students develop general organizational habits. I am patient, and I prioritize the joy of learning over "perfection." I believe the use of artificial intelligence is harmful to the learning process. My ideal student is willing to embrace mistakes and develop critical thinking skills by avoiding A. I. during and after our sessions. I enjoy reading, painting, and traveling. I love to spend time with animals, especially my 13-year-old pet bunny.
