I am a mature woman who relocated 4 years ago to Florida from Boston where I was born, raised & educated ( Boston College). I have 4 adult children. My mom ( & best friend) was diagnosed at age 75 with Alzheimer's & soon after with pancreatic cancer (survived miraculously for 5+ years). She moved in with my family for 7 years before a short stay in a memory care where I visited daily. My personal experience with Alzheimer's taught me more than any textbook. My clinical work history as a dental hygienist & caretaking for family & friends has fostered my compassion for helping others & adapting to personalized care. I have volunteered at a memory care where I visited elders who were either unable to care for themselves or were experiencing dementia/Alzheimers. I was also hired through Care to enjoy time with an elder & take him/ her to appointments as well as fun excursions. I am patient, kind & empathetic. I love the elderly & feel they deserve the utmost respect.
