Hello there! My name is Sia and I just moved here from California where I worked as a Speech Language Pathologist for 5 years and am currently in between travel contracts. Prior to that I worked at an elementary school for 3 years as an Assistant Teacher, nanny, elementary/middle school tutor and Camp Admissions Director. With these roles, I have had diverse experiences with newborn through 14-year-old children, special needs children, and children with behavioral, academic and social challenges. Growing up as the eldest grandchild of 10, I took it upon myself to assist my younger cousins with homework, meal preparation, and night time routines. Personally, I am a patient, flexible, a great multi-tasker and an energetic person who finds so much joy being around kiddos. I would love to say Sia is the worst, just so I can keep her for our family. But that would be a huge lie. She is the best that could have happened to us. When Covid hit and daycare closed, we found ourselves stuck at home with no care option for our son, 1.5y old at the time. Founding Sia was a last minute miracle. She clicked right away with us and our son who fell in love with her and totally ignored me when she was there. I felt comfortable after only a few minutes leaving them alone, not worrying at all. I was able to go back to work knowing he was not only safe and happy, but also learning a lot. Sia taught him his first words and really helped him progress so much. I don't think our son would have learnt that fast without her. She really knows what she is doing. I even learnt a lot from her. It broke our hearts when she had to go back to school and couldn't continue with us but we are so happy to still have her in our lives. She is just the best :)
