About Shimaine

I love learning and helping others build confidence in material that may find difficult at first. I graduated high school a year early and later attended St. John's University, where I studied Public Relations with a minor in Psychology. During my four years there, I worked in the Athletic Tutoring Center and regularly helped peers and student-athletes with studying and coursework. I also hold a Master's degree in Special Education with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis and have 3 years of experience working with individuals ages 2 through 40+ across schools, clinics, homes, and adult day programs. My experience has taught me how to break concepts down, adapt to different learning styles, and meet each learner where they are. Having benefited from tutoring myself, I understand how valuable individualized support can be, and I hope to help learners build both confidence and a genuine love for learning.
