About Sheila

Hi, I am Sheila, a retired elementary grade-school teacher. I've also had the pleasure of teaching writing to 7th graders and English, as a second language, to adults. I've taught all subjects in elementary school. I am comfortable with teaching math up to the 5th grade. My strengths are in reading, writing, math, and science. Even before becoming a certified public school teacher, I taught medical paraprofessionals in my first profession, which was nursing. There is great pleasure to me in seeing a student finally 'get' a skill or concept and then moving on to the next challenge. I am a teacher at heart, understanding that every student, no matter the age, has a unique way of (or path to) learning ... whereby, achieving success, in whatever they encounter. My years before retirement were teaching public elementary school in NYC, NY.
