About Shawn

Shawn’s personal knowledge of nutrition, occupational therapy work arounds, and her calm, positive, reassuring attitude was life giving and very helpful during a very difficult time. I was a caregiver for my husband’s needs after a major surgery and a caregiver for my mother who has memory issues. When I fractured my ankle- I needed a caregiver to help me to be able to rethink how to manage my personal, caregiver, and basic household tasks - yet not sabotage my own healing. Shawn came 2-3 times a week for 5 weeks and helped me successfully navigate care for me, my husband, and my mother. She showed me how to get in and out of the shower safely with limited weight bearing restrictions, retrieved needed items down stairs I couldn’t traverse yet, and helped me prepare or start meals on days she was scheduled. She cleaned bathrooms, changed sheets, and assisted with projects once I was able to move more. Since then, I have hired Shawn to stay with my mom when I have had to be gone for an extended period of time. She is trustworthy, dependable, and competent.
