About Sharon

I am a retired teacher who has worked part-time in an elementary school the last 10 years. I'm interested in working with the elderly. While in college I worked 2 years with a visually-impaired, elderly woman, helping with meals, reading to her, providing company and transportation, and I loved it. I have worked with children since then professionally, but I have volunteered with my therapy dog, Maggie, at a nursing home for the past 6 years, visiting with residents, listening, talking, and sharing my sweet dog with them. Additionally, my 89-year-old father has lived with me since 2020. I feel very comfortable with the elderly and am told I am a good listener and a compassionate person. I feel a part-time job with an elderly person would play to my strengths and be a good fit!
