About Shanya

Hi! I come from a big family with many little cousins. I am the oldest of five siblings with some age gaps. I've cared for all ages including newly-born babies from personal experiences. I started caring for kids by simply babysitting my cousins. Then, it went on to a daycare. My grandma started a daycare and I went on to be her assistant. I was First Aid and CPR certified, ready to start the job! I've cared for all ages from newborn to teenagers even when I was just a teenager myself. I moved on to become a coach for 14U volleyball club. Becoming a coach provided a different experience for me because it was more about the teaching aspect rather than the caring aspect. I am also a psychology major, focusing on child development. I have been learning about how and why children behave the way they do. I believe that my learning has allowed me to become a better caretaker.
