About Alexis Kay

Hi! I'm Alex, a 22-year-old student at RIT/NTID pursuing my degree in ASL-English Interpretation. I've dedicated much of my life to working with children in diverse settings and am passionate about supporting kids of all abilities as they learn and grow. My early experience includes serving as a counselor and director for Webster Recreation's summer camp, volunteering as a cheerleading coach, and working in a daycare with children ages 10 months to 4 years. In 2022, I joined Monroe 1 BOCES as a Signing Skills Coach, supporting students with intellectual, physical, and emotional needs, particularly those who are deaf, hard of hearing, or nonverbal. I also coach at KidStrong in East Rochester, promoting confidence, fitness, and social development. With my background in ASL and visual communication, I approach childcare with empathy, and professionalism, striving to create environments where every child feels valued and has fun!
