About Shannon

I have over 11 years of experience working with children in both schools and homes. I spent 7 years as a special education teacher and 3 years as a school counselor. In these roles, I helped students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Before teaching, I worked as a one-to-one special education assistant for high school students, giving them personalized support. I have also helped families of children with autism in their homes, supporting kids from early elementary age to adulthood. I know how to use communication strategies that fit each child's needs, like visual aids, social stories, and structured routines. I provide positive behavior support to help children grow and become more independent. I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and understood. I look forward to working with families to meet their children's unique needs and help them succeed.
