Over the past three years, I have helped a close family member transition from her house into assisted living as she was diagnosed with dementia. I worked closely with her 50 hours a week while her two daughters worked. I helped with everything from meal prep to transfers, doctor's appointments to social interactions. Through this process I found a passion for helping elders and I am now finishing up my degree at PSU in Aging Services. Being able to interact with others and hear their stories and experiences in life help me realize just how wonderful and special an individual is. I also have a medical background as a Surgical Technologist, helping nurses in PreOP and PACU as well.
