Experience: 2 yrs
While pursuing a degree in nursing, I worked as a CNA in Illinois, shortly after relocating to Texas in 2012, and learning my core college credits would not transfer, I started working as a nanny, special needs caregiver, and senior caregiver, as well as taking on family assistant or household management duties in most positions. I have loved working with clients of all ages and all abilities. I was lucky to spend six months working for a client with a terminal diagnosis, ensuring her comfort and happiness for as long as possible, eventually assisting her family with wrapping up her estate. My favorite position has been spending several years as an assistant and house manager for a senior gentleman with Down Syndrome, which allowed him to remain in his family home for as long as his overall health allowed. I find it incredibly fulfilling to form relationships with those who have had varied experiences to share as well as helping them maintain as much autonomy as possible.
