I have always loved kids and learning. I have 5 amazing kids/stepkids. My youngest is 10 and homeschooling. My family is very neurodiverse (I like to say neurospicy), so I have a lot of experience at home and in my childcare/teaching/volunteering working with ADHD, autism, anxiety, OCD, and learning disabilities. I am a very patient and positive person by nature and like to find the right approach for each student. I do well with English, math, science, computers (I studied computer science and was a graphic designer before I left my career to care for my children and my father), music (piano, guitar, voice - classicly trained soprano), arts and crafts, and have studied both ASL and Spanish. I am an avid gardener who loves pets and I also enjoy swimming, dance, and basketball.

Shannon was an amazing co-leader with the group of kids that we worked with together. She developed strong relationships with the parents and guardians while also establishing equally strong relationships with the children. She found ways to take complex things in science and nature and made them simple and accessible to the group. She brought her whole self to the role which included her musical and craft talents. Her ability as an educator and care giver along with the creative aspects she weaves into her roles make her a very special addition to any role or community.
