About Shana

I'd describe my personality as friendly, caring, and fun. I like tutoring because it gives me the ability to help individual students with the specific needs they have. I'm looking for a job where I can make my own schedule and work with students one on one in a comfortable environment. I started Dyslexia reading tutoring last summer after retiring from teaching in an elementary classroom for 25 years. In my spare time, I like to garden, read, shop, do home projects, swim, travel, and spend time with family and friends. One thing you should know about me is I have my Oklahoma teaching certification in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, plus ESL. My skills include being trained with the Wilson reading program, lesson planning, and teaching elementary students Prek-4th in the classroom, small groups, and individuals.
