About Shaila

I am a recent occupational therapy graduate from ECU. I graduated from UNCC where I studied psychology and gerontology (study of aging). In my academic career, I have completed 3 month rotation at UNC REX skilled nursing rehab where I provide therapy services to older adults with physical, cognitive, and neurological conditions. Outside of school, I spent two summers working as a nurse's aide in assisted living facilities where I assisted older adults with ADL's and IADL's. I have also had the pleasure to work with four families as a home health aide through Care. com. I plan to work with older adults professionally as an occupational therapist, so I am very passionate about caring for and encouraging the clients I work with. I hope to build a relationship with your loved one as well. NOTE: I am currently studying for my state boards that I plan on taking in February. I am hoping at accept a PRN position after that until I can accept a full time position in July of 2025.

We have recently hired Shaila to assist with our care for my elderly mother with Parkinson's Disease. She has a very kind and compassionate disposition and goes above and beyond to look for ways to help. She is very patient in helping my mother transfer from place to place and with her sweet smile, adds a bright spot to my mother's day. She is prompt and dependable.
