About Sergio

Sergio worked for my family for two years caring for my 96 year old father. His dedication, extensive medical knowledge and gentle presence made all aspects of my father’s care so much easier for everyone involved. When he first started working as a caregiver my father’s needs were fewer. He went walking with him daily, prepared his meals, engaged in conversations, took care of his medications, watched sports programs with him, took him to doctor’s appointments as well as countless other things. He and my dad became good friends and he was someone my father trusted and respected. As my dad’s medical needs increased over the last year, Sergio never wavered. He became the lead nurse in our home and coordinated my dad’s care with the night and weekend staff as well as hospice. He oversaw the ever changing medications my dad required, gave him breathing treatments with a nebulizer, monitored if and when he needed oxygen, calculated and administered insulin for my dad’s diabetes, carefully prepared meals to ensure blood sugar spikes wouldn’t occur, helped him in and out of bed, dressed him, helped with the commode and diaper changes, bathed him, made sure he got exercise walking with his walker, took him out on walks in his wheelchair, maintained my dad’s room at all times making sure it was always clean and organized. Sergio never missed a day of work. He was always on time and greeted everyone with his warm smile. I always looked forward to him being there. Sergio’s medical knowledge was beyond impressive. He always looked up medications and cross referenced them to ensure there were no drug interactions as my dad was on so many. I highly recommend Sergio. He wasn’t just a caregiver, he was family and there aren’t enough words to thank him for all that he did for us. He is one in a million.
