Making a difference in the lives of adults and seniors is my calling. With three years of experience, I'm passionate about supporting well-being and independence. My college degree equipped me with a solid foundation for providing exceptional care. I offer respite care, live-in home care, transportation, hospice services, and assistance with errands. I also provide light housekeeping, meal preparation, dementia care, medical management, mobility assistance, and support for physical activity. I adapt to changing routines, de-escalate stressful situations, and handle confusion with patience. I am CPR and First Aid certified. Building a connection means understanding your loved one's preferences and history. I communicate with families through written daily reports, verbal updates, and regular texts or phone calls. I am patient, friendly, professional, and detail-oriented. I look forward to bringing comfort and joy to your family.
Our parents were in their late 80’s and early 90’s, and we wanted to keep them together in their own home as long as possible. Hiring Sela made this possible for our parents. She navigated a very challenging situation with one experiencing dementia and one with Alzheimers. She knew how to step in and be so helpful. She knew how to be present making sure they were safe, allowing them be alone when they felt like they didn’t need assistance, but always ready to step in the moment they needed help. She understands dementia and she doesn’t get flustered and frustrated by it. She can see the person beyond the disease. I’ve seen her talk my parents through hundreds of different situations of anxiety and the stress of daily living with disease. She is a very patient person. She has a caregiving heart. She is a nurturing person. She knows how to give tender, loving, care. When we first hired her, our family was preparing meals for our parents. She was willing to prepare meals and see if our parents enjoyed her cooking. They did! She prepared countless nutritious homemade meals for my parents. Our family worked as a team. There was a lot of support outside the home to provide the things she needed to be successful in the home. She took out endless garbage, did laundry, and dishes, always keeping the house tidy and in order. She helped with personal needs, dressing, and giving medication. She loved our parents through the most challenging time of their lives and she helped us by relieving the day to day weight caregiving requires. We could enjoy them more and be their children. She is dependable, honest, and trustworthy. She always came to work with a positive attitude. She has a great sense of humor, and our family made a great friend in her. Jennifer
