In the 5th grade I would opt out of our once a week class library time and spend my time volunteering in the special needs classroom instead. I have babysat kids with down syndrome, and behavioral disorders. I am comfortable working with individuals with autism, and have had experience working with autistic kids as a substitute teacher.
