I'm a Certified Nursing Assistant and an End of Life Doula. I've been providing private in-home care for more than 15 years. I've been in the medical field for over 25 years. Advocating for and serving the aging community has been my passion since the age of 16. Keeping people in their homes is my mission! Specialized in: Dementia (early on-set and advanced) Alzheimer's, Rheumatology, Parkinson's, wound care, traumatic brain injury's, Alcoholism, Palliative Care, medication management, management of care plans, team management, meal prep, feeding, non-verbal communication, mood swings, teamwork, one-on-one care, weekend respite care, CPR, First Aid, Basic Life Support and so much more. I work directly with the family to provide the best care possible. Communication is unbeatable. Let's connect and see if we would be a good fit!
My sister found Sara when she entered hospice protocols. She was kind, caring and dedicated to supporting her, and the family, through this journey. Her experience helped us all understand the process that was ahead of us. Initially, she helped a few hours a day, a few days a week with general housekeeping chores. As my sisters condition progressed, she asked Sara to put together a support team for her. Sara took this responsibility very seriously, acting as any good hiring manager would: gathering and sorting through applications, making initial calls, checking references, meeting personally with potential caregivers and only bringing in ones that she thought would be qualified and a fit for us to meet and interview. As more care was needed, Sara worked with her own support team of caregivers, to prioritize the care needs for my sister. She added more hours and finally arranged to be the overnight person until she passed. In addition, during this time, my brother-in-law was hospitalized and came home with a PICC line. Sara came in to be trained by the nurse on how to administer and care for the PICC line. She came in every afternoon before going to another client to do the PICC line for the required 10 days. She also worked closely with the hospice nurse. She learned how to bandage my sister’s legs when an unusual condition developed. She ordered needed supplies and communicated my sister’s needs, added her observations, and advocated for my sister. I found Sara to be a committed professional. We are so very grateful to have had her as we went through this journey.
