About Sanura

Hi there! I have worked as a nanny, tutor, and educator for the last 6 years - with my most recent position being a Middle School Social Studies Teacher at St. Procopius, a bilingual (English/Spanish) school in Pilsen, Chicago. I hold a Bachelor's degree in English (Bowdoin College) and am currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Concordia University). My commitment to mental healthcare is very much rooted in my experience as a teacher - the most effective learning begins with a healthy, happy mind. Leading with patience and creativity, I provide a soulful, safe space for learning and growth. I pull from curriculum, activities, snd techniques that I have spent my career compiling and observed success with - from dance and song, to worksheets and essay prompts, to playing board games, solving puzzles, or using educational apps, I understand that children need to experience a variety of learning mediums and methods in order to find what best suits them.
