I corresponded with Sadie three times in the weeks leading up to my brother's wedding. We agreed upon times, location and payment. My last message from her was "I have saved the date and will absolutely be there." Then, 36 hours before the wedding, she stopped responding to calls or messages. I understand things come up, but had she let me know, I could've hired one of the many other babysitters who applied. Instead, my husband and I were left with no sitter. We were a bridesmaid and the best man and had to miss most of the reception because our young daughters couldn't stay up that late. These are special memories I can't get back.
