About Ruthie

I offer tutoring for a wide variety of elementary subjects with an emphasis on hands-on enrichment activities. I firmly believe that learning can and should be FUN! I am the fourth of 7 kids, have 10+ years of babysitting experience, 1 year of tutoring experience, and have spent 4 summers as a camp counselor, meaning I really enjoy working with kids in both academic and informal environments. I'd describe my personality as cheerful, organized, and resourceful. I like tutoring because I want kids to ENJOY learning, and find it immensely rewarding to watch them succeed and fall in love with learning. I started tutoring officially in January, 2026 when I took over a small group homeschool coop of 8 second graders, but I have been helping my younger siblings with homework since I was a child, and have worked as a Teaching Assistant at the collegiate level for 3 years. In my spare time, I like to go on outdoor adventures with my friends and husband!
