About Roxanne

I've been a writer and tutor for 10 years, with a background in tech and non-profit education. I've taught English in Colombia, Taiwan, and America, and worked privately for years with billionaire families who wanted their children to feel worthy of life, not just successful in it. School gives kids structure. What it can't always give is the feeling that they're equal to the challenges in front of them. My approach is structural and craft based, but just as much psychological. I want kids and teenagers to feel comfortable enough to write honestly, take creative risks, and follow their own path. I've done screenwriting and developmental editing for over six years. Writing means asking the right questions and digging beneath the surface, and I teach children to observe, question, and go there fearlessly. I'm also a long time meditation practitioner, with five Vipassana retreats and a yin yoga certification, and I bring that mindfulness into working with kids through hard emotions.
