About Rori

Hello! For the past 4 years I have tutored youth between the ages of six through 21. I assist in the core subjects of English, history and science. I am particularly strong in building vocabulary and improving writing skills. One of the main techniques I find useful for students when they are feeling stuck is using the method of dictation where they "talk out/speak out" their thoughts while I act as a scribe. I also help with transitions, supporting arguments with evidence, and connecting disparate ideas. I love observing and supporting children's process and development toward confident communicators and knowing that their voice matters!
