About Rifat

My name is Rifat. I am a sophomore college student studying at Montclair State University. I hold a Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) certification, displaying my knowledge of identifying and immediately responding to mental health and substance use challenges for young people (ages 6-18). As an Afterschool STEM Instructor at Team Makers LLC, I have experience working with children from grades K-12. Within this role, I facilitate engaging science and engineering focused workshops, cultivating a strong STEM learning environment. I focus on building strong math and english skills, self-confidence and a passion for continuous learning. I actively listen and observe the children's initial interactions with new material, changing my teaching strategies, and encouraging open communication about what methods work best for them. I connect challenging topics to real-world examples, providing visual learning, and celebrating small successes.
