About Rachel

I am a 2008 graduate from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. This summer, I am working towards earning my certification in middle school math and English. Over the past two years, I have been a substitute in the Mifflin County School District. I have worked in both elementary and middle schools. I enjoy working with both, as I see that each age level offers a different and unique experience for me. I have enjoyed substituting because it gives me the opportunity to experience different students and schools. I am passionate about students learning. My favorite part is the "Oh yeah moment." It is the moment when you know that your students have learned something that you have taught them. It is inspiring and drives me to work hard. Also, I find myself learning from my students everyday. They are so fun and unique, especially when you get to know them. I understand that each student learns differently and it is my goal to get to know my students and teach them the way that they learn best. I strive to make learning fun for them!
