About Porter

Hello! I graduated this past spring with a B. S. in psychology and a minor in gerontology. I completed an in-depth research project examining the psychological and physiological effects of spousal/relational loss in older adulthood, as well as protective factors to mitigate such effects (such as loneliness). One such protective factor is social connection, one that I do not underestimate. I have volunteered with Central Coast Hospice for roughly a year and a half. As a volunteer, I provide respite care and companionship. I'm a good listener and greatly enjoy listening to stories and connecting with older adults.
