About Omar

Hi! I'm Omar, a college student at Middlebury majoring in Architecture and Environmental Studies minor in Global Health home in Chicago for the summer, and ready to support local families. I have 3+ years of child care experience from taking care of my younger cousin throughout high school helping with homework, making meals, and keeping them entertained. I also care for my dog, which has taught me patience, consistency, and responsibility. I've worked in community roles with the City of Chicago and Metropolitan Family Services, gaining strong communication and outreach skills. I'll be part of the Community Friends mentorship program at Middlebury this fall, because I truly love supporting youth and giving back. I'm fluent in English and Spanish and currently practicing French, so I enjoy bringing multicultural fun into the home. I'm reliable, energetic, and would love to start working with your family early this summer, whether it's childcare, pet care, or just being a helping hand!
