I can get groceries, run you to doctor's appointments, take your vitals and make sure you stay on top of your medicine, take you on walks or other enjoyable outings, do light housekeeping, or simply provide friendly company--anything you need to make each day a bit easier and brighter.After working as a French teacher in Bucharest, Romania, and then spending 30 years in the international division of an insurance company in CT, I discovered--quite by accident--that my greatest joy comes from caring for the elderly. Shortly after moving to Santa Barbara in 2018, I began helping Joe and Wilma, a wonderful couple in their 90s.Since then, I've had the privilege of caring for several extraordinary people--each one teaching me something new about love, patience, and the beauty of aging.Excellent references--including by phone--are available.

Olga was hired to care for my 80-year-old mother who had end-stage COPD. She quickly built positive rapport and trust with my mom and eventually became part of our family, ensuring my mom ate enough, taking her to appointments, caring for the home, and keeping mom safe so she could stay in her home as long as she did. This level of support and care was far beyond expectations, as my sister and I live on the West Coast and fully relied on Olga to support our mom. She communicated with us when needed, but also clearly let us know our mom was in good hands and well cared-for. I truly credit the quality of her care with giving my mom another 6 months of life. And when my mom declined, Olga visited her bedside regularly and ran interference with doctors and nurses before we were able to get to RI, sharing updates and progress so we could feel informed about what was happening. Even now, she's helping me clean out my mom's home. I trust her completely. Olga is a caregiver by nature, and I'm grateful she shared that gift with our family.
