I am very passionate about working with people who have disabilities. I grew up with my brother who has Down syndrome and he inspired me to pursue a job in Special Education. I am currently a student at Syracuse University studying Early Childhood Inclusive Special Education. Worked for two summers at the Newport County YMCA Adapted Camp as a counselor for 6-10-year-olds with disabilities, integrating them into the traditional camp and supporting them. Coordinated various Adapted programs at the MacColl YMCA including: Juniors Unified Basketball, Juniors Unified Soccer, and our new Adapted summer camp. Worked as a classroom aid for a two children on the autism spectrum at the Temple Emanu-El Religious School. Founded a nonprofit organization: Providence Unified Youth. The mission of this organization is to foster friendships between teens with and without disabilities through monthly events in Rhode Island.
