I have 6 months experience working with children (ages 4-12) in a full time, professional setting. I worked at an outdoors based science camps (Keystone Science School) as a full time camp instructor! Half of my kiddos were new every week, half were reoccurring! I worked with them eight hours a day, providing meals/snacks, structured activities (hikes, science lessons, games, arts and crafts, reading/literacy time, etc.) as well as enjoyed more relaxed downtime. I worked with a co-instructor with a ratio of 13:2. I am currently working at CSU Mountain Campus as a seasonal outdoor educator for grades 5th-7th. I teach outdoor environmental curriculum that aligns with the Poudre School District guidelines, as well as lead groups through outdoor based activities. These include: hikes (6-12m), ropes course/challenge elements, campfires, games, etc. in order to access "growth zone" mindset and gain confidence.
