I am ABA trained. Since I was a toddler, I have been helping my mom at her in-home daycare center. Later I was doing childcare while I was in college. I prefer to do hands-on activities rather than T. V. and children thrive when they are active and showered with attention and taken seriously. I don't use bad words or get angry. Because I have a nurturing personality, I gain trust by genuinely caring about their needs. I believe T. V. stunts the growth of creativity and critical thinking so I like doing crafts, reading out loud or just talking with children. Most children over 2 years old need to express their thoughts to someone who listens and asks questions so the child knows their feelings are heard. As a parent or a caregiver, I enjoy encouraging young ones to talk about their day, give their point of view.
