About Monica

Hi, my name is Monica and I am the owner of Beyond The Bookcase Learning! I am a licensed special education teacher in Birch Bay Washington. I have 10+ years of classroom experience, including six years of resource support and four years of running my district's self-contained autism program. As the T-shirts say "you can't scare me. I'm a sped teacher. I've seen it, tracked it and written a goal for it" So why tutoring? One of the best parts of my work, the one that plays most of my strengths, is connecting with students and families, building them up and persisting until we find a solution. Tutoring allows me to focus on what matters most - our kids and their limitless potential!
