About Mirissa

My experience as a tutor began in high school, tutoring fellow students starting in 2008. I continued to freelance part-time as a tutor through the 2010s while working as an administrative assistant and a dance instructor. In 2023, I completed an undergraduate degree in mathematics with a specialization in mathematics education. I worked as a student assistant while attending university, conducting office hours, leading calculus activity courses, and grading student work. I completed a semester of student teaching in a middle school math classroom. I have experience working with students from grade 1 through university, with the bulk of my experience with students in 7th - 10th grades. I am also a dance instructor, starting as a teacher's assistant and substitute instructor in 2009. I have taught students as young as 18 months through adults as a faculty member at studios in Southern California. I specialize in jazz though I also teach ballet, tap, and contemporary.
