About Mikayla

Hi there! My name is Mikayla and I have over 9 years of experience in child care. I started working at an aftercare program when I was 17 years old. I loved it so much that I decided to become a teacher! I worked at that program for 3 years with ages k-5. During college, I worked at Tall Pines day camp as a senior counselor and as a floater with ages ranging from 4-12. I graduated from college in 2022 with a bachelors degree in k-6 education and history. I got my first teaching job September of that year in Camden. I have been there for four years, 3 of those years in 4th grade and 1 year in 2nd grade. I have found so much joy in connecting with all my campers and students while watching them grow. I am also very comfortable caring for animals. I have had dogs since I was born and have cared for several smaller animals over the years (hamsters, fish, rats, chinchillas). I currently have a cat who is spoiled to death, so I am more than happy to care for your fur babies too!
