About Michelle

Hi! My name is Michelle and I am currently a finishing up my BS in Kinesiology with a focus on Healthcare. As I am a student, my availability may vary. Please reach out for details! I've worked closely with the aging population in medical facilities, rehabilitation clinics, nursing homes and assisted living facilities across a few years. I have experience working with aging adults with motor and/or cognitive deficits. I have experience with preparing meals and assisting with mobility aides. I adjust all communication and activities to be appropriate to the skills/abilities of person I am caring for as well. Encouragement, support, fostering independence, understanding the frustration that comes with losing skills they once had, respect and patience are critical in senior care. Aging can often feel like their independence has been taken away due to the natural aging process or illness/disabilities. Feeling alive and cared for is an experience everyone, no matter the age, deserves.
