About Michelle

Empowering students to master critical thinking through close reading and analytical writing is at the heart of my teaching practice. With 27 years of classroom experience at Northampton High School, I guide middle school, high school, and adult learners by observing their unique needs and fostering open communication. Courses I've taught extensively include college prep British and American literature, 10th grade college prep and honors, and mythology. I prioritize building a supportive rapport, celebrating small successes, and encouraging curiosity to ensure concepts truly click. I adapt my approach to help you develop the problem-solving skills necessary for long-term academic success. I am comfortable working around pets and am happy to travel to your preferred location. Seeing a student's confidence grow as they overcome challenges is the most rewarding part of my work, and I look forward to supporting your educational journey.
