Experience: 5 yrs
When my father passed away in 1995, I moved to Florida to keep my mom company. Over time, it became necessary for her to have full time help. I became my mother's full-time caregiver offering her companionship and preparing her meals, medications and paying her bills. After she passed away, I returned to St. Louis and cared for a woman that suffered with Alzheimer's. For the past several years, I have cared for children in their homes as a nanny. I am responsible, reliable, caring and have reliable transportation. Please let me know if I can help. Michaelene
Michaelene posses a number of gifts that make her an ideal caregiver. Warm and friendly, yet mature and professional, she has been the perfect companion and aid to our aging 92-year-old mother. Our mother is sight impaired, uses a walker and occasionally struggles with memory issues. These conditions are simply not a hardship for Michaelene, who treats my mother with exceptional kindness and patience. She is well versed in a number of subjects and reads the newspaper and novels - many of historical significance - to my mother. She chats with her about current events and accompanies her to museums. Keeping my mom engaged intellectually has been such a blessing. Beyond that, Michaelene is capable of managing just about anything. She resolves problems quickly and effectively and always goes the extra mile to ensure my mother is happy, safe, and comfortable. She works long 12-hour days, preparing three healthy meals, assisting with showering and dressing, taking my mother to appointments, and helping her stay focused. It was a magical stroke of luck that we found Michaelene on Care.com. From our first conversation, I knew she would be a wonderful match for our mother and our family. I would highly recommend her as a caregiver to anyone seeking exceptional care for a loved one.
