About Michaela

While in college, I worked part-time as a caregiver for a woman with muscular dystrophy. I assisted her with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility support. Over time, our relationship grew, and I learned the importance of patience, empathy, and building trust through consistent, compassionate care. Inspired by her resilience and dedication as a special education teacher, I joined the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Volunteer & Advocacy Institute and volunteered with TOPSoccer, supporting children with disabilities through inclusive play. These experiences shaped how I care for others with attentiveness, respect, and a genuine desire to help.
