About Mia

Hello, I'm Miss Mia! I'm passionate about caring and teaching children and adults with and without Intellectual and Development Disabilities (IDDs). I'm a local DCPS high school special education teacher aiming to create a safe and fun space for my students. Last year, I earned my masters degree in International Education from GW, where I worked in an academic and career center. Prior to living in DC, I was an Elementary English teacher in South Korea, and a kindergarten teacher and paraprofessional in South Florida. My love for empowering neurodivergent individuals started at a young age and by senior year of high school I was an in-home respite care worker for autistic children. Beyond teaching, I have experience tutoring, caregiving, house cleaning, and nannying full-time. I am happy to provide most services needed, as well as accommodate for any medical needs. I am familiar with most pre-k to 8th grade curriculum and humanities 9-12th!
