About Melody

I'm personable, empathetic, and high-spirited. I enjoy working with kids because it's a team effort, and parents need breaks to be their best selves. I want a job that allows me to make a real impact on families' lives. I started working with kids at 14 and gained experience in my undergrad at 18. I majored in therapeutic recreation and became a licensed special education teacher in 2018. I completed my master's in special education in 2023. I love my experience and community. In my spare time, I play with my Aussie, explore Charlotte with my partner, go to the movies, and take mindful walks. I respect clear rules and boundaries to ensure quality care. As a special education teacher, I value transparency to meet students' needs. My skills include behavior management, recreation and leisure therapy, life skill building, and tutoring k-7. I'm also certified in CPR and cleaning.
