Experience: 10 yrs
With 18 years as a nanny and four years as a dyslexia and reading interventionist, I am passionate about fostering emotional well-being and language development in children. My experience spans working with newborns, multiples, and kids of all ages, including those with autism and various learning and developmental differences, allowing me to offer personalized and compassionate support at every stage of growth. I create nurturing, engaging environments tailored to each child's needs, focusing on emotional well-being and building strong, trusting relationships with families. My background in education has enhanced my understanding of diverse learning styles and the need for tailored strategies, enabling me to develop effective techniques that help children build confidence and reach their full potential. Looking for 3-4 days a week west of I-25.
Melissa is highly professional, patient and kind, proactive, purposeful, an amazing communicator, and overall a wonderful influence on the kids she teaches/ Nannie's for. We have had a few moves as a family the last few years, and after this recent one, lost our child care unexpectedly for our 3 young kids (5yrs, 4 yrs, 11 months). Us as parents were stressed and busy and trying to figure out ways to create some structure and stability for our kids. After hiring her, I specifically asked her for advice and recommendations, and she provided so many ideas of routines, structures, even books and activities. One of our children was having a really hard time with all of the transitions and really pushed back with her- and no matter what, Melissa was patient, gentle, and kind with her. They became good friends and sweet memories were made with her as well as with my other 2 boys. She tries to add educational opportunities with the kids just day to day and is playful with them. So good and teaching communication for the littlest and even the older kids. We hired her just for a transition to another child care situation for our kids, otherwise we would have loved to keep her on! I could not recommend her more.
